Palm Harbor Florida is located in northwest Pinellas County between the cities of
Tarpon Springs and Dunedin with Clearwater only minutes away. This town was settled
by a man named J.C. Craver when he moved to the area in 1877 under the advice of
physician, as he stated in his diary. A year later a post office was granted which is one of the first
known records of this community. Palm Harbor was originally called Sutherland back in the late 1800's,
a shortened version of the Southern Land Development Company who originally platted the town
of Palm Harbor, finally giving it a home on the map. In 1925, Sutherland, Florida became what we
now know as Palm Harbor, Florida, a beautiful coastal community in Pinellas County.
