This town was settled by a man named J.C. Craver when he moved to the area in 1877 under the advice of physician, as he stated in his diary. Palm Harbor was originally called Sutherland back in the late 1800's, a shortened version of the Southern Land Development Company who originally platted the town of Palm Harbor, finally giving it a home on the map.
