History of Oldsmar Real EstateOldsmar located in the sunshine state of Florida populates the eastern flanks of the Pinellas County and the northern borders of Hillsborough County . A sleepy little town, with lots of marshlands in the past, Oldsmar today is very different with its dense population and crowds.

When its layout was being planned, the founder was keen on keeping it a scenic touristy city with small shops, distinct restaurants, galleries, stately homes, and vibrant events. However, the city grew and expanded. Though the old world charm is still retained, it is now a city buzzing with activity.

Previously named R.E. Olds-On-The-Bay when its founder Ransom Eli Olds purchased it, the name changed to Oldsmar and then to Tampa Shores and back to Oldsmar in 1937.

The census of the year 2000 placed the population in the city at a total of 11,910. In 2004 the census recoded it as 13,706. As per the figures of the United States Census Bureau, the city spans an area of 25.0 km² of which 23.1 km² is covered by land and 1.9 km² is water.

In the year 2000, the population was estimated at 11,910 with 4,536 households, and 3,329 families living here. Population density as estimated at 515.5/km². The racial breakup in the city was estimated at 90.44% White, 2.96% African American, 0.29% Native American, 2.80% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 1.29% from other races, and 2.07% from a combination of two or more races. 6.67% of the population was deemed to be Hispanic or Latino.
